In ruminants, the mouth, tongue, udder and skin may become sensitive or lose surface integrity as a result of trauma, environmental factors or tissue damage associated with certain infectious diseases.

In particular, vesicular diseases such as foot-and-mouth disease may cause vesicles on the oral mucosa, tongue, teats and feet. Once ruptured, these lesions may develop into erosions or open wounds and can negatively affect feed intake, mobility and overall animal comfort.

Bovimate® Spray supports local care of the affected area with its oil-based formulation. By coating the application surface, it helps maintain local care and provides supportive protection for sensitive or damaged areas. It can be used on the mouth, tongue, udder and skin as part of a supportive care program.

The product is not intended to treat the underlying cause of infectious disease and should be used as supportive care alongside the treatment and management program recommended by the veterinarian. The current product label also positions Bovimate® Spray for supportive care of the mouth, tongue, udder and skin and for the care of localized wounds in ruminants.
