Digestive Support is a deliberately simple formula built around a single active ingredient: a spore-based Bacillus subtilis probiotic. That simplicity is intentional — Bacillus subtilis is one of the few probiotic strains directly supported by multiple controlled studies in both cats and dogs.

In a study conducted in pet cats, a compound Bacillus supplement significantly reduced the rate of soft stools and diarrhea, lowered inflammatory markers (IL-1β, IL-6) while raising IL-10, and increased beneficial short-chain fatty acids (acetic, butyric acid) in feces. In dog studies, Bacillus subtilis supplementation improved nutrient digestibility (dry matter, fiber, protein), reduced fecal ammonia, and improved stool consistency. The acid-resistant spore form allows the bacteria to survive gastric transit and germinate in the intestine.
