The pre- and post-calving transition period is the moment when immune capacity is at its lowest and environmental pressure is at its highest. ATEX® contains acidified thymol ester stabilised through esterification technology. Unlike conventional thymol, it is non-volatile and does not irritate the digestive mucosa. (2021, 117 citations) showed that thymol and carvacrol support immune response and improve feed utilisation by regulating intestinal microbial balance. Furthermore, Gan et al. (2025) directly demonstrated that thymol does not induce resistance in S. aureus and A. baumannii — its multi-target mechanical action mechanism means resistance development is not a concern.
